How to disable blocked software on Windows
We will not be able to verify your location if you have a VPN or Remote Desktop Software on your device or any software that emulates a Proxy server. You will need to disable these while playing the games.
For Windows, to disable the most common types of software:
-
Open Control Panel:
- Click on the Start menu and type ‘Control Panel’ in the search bar.
- Select ‘Control Panel’ from the search results to open it.
-
Navigate to Programs and Features:
- In the Control Panel window, find and click on ‘Programs’ or ‘Programs and Features,’ depending on your Windows version.
-
Find the VPN Software:
- Scroll through the list of installed programs to find your VPN software. It might be listed under its name or the name of the VPN provider.
- Click on the VPN software to select it.
-
Uninstall the VPN Software:
- Once the VPN software is selected, you should see an option to ‘Uninstall’ or ‘Change’ at the top of the window. Click on this option.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to proceed with the uninstallation process. This might involve confirming the action or providing administrator permission.
-
Complete the Uninstallation:
- Allow the uninstallation process to complete. Depending on the VPN software, you might need to restart your computer to finish the uninstallation.
-
Check for Remaining Files (optional):
- After uninstalling the VPN software, it's a good idea to check for any remaining files or configurations related to the VPN. You can do this by navigating to the installation directory of the VPN software (typically located in ‘Program Files’ or ‘Program Files (x86)’) and deleting any leftover folders or files associated with the VPN.
-
Restart Your Computer (optional):
- To ensure that the uninstallation is complete, and any remaining configurations are cleared, you can restart your computer.
If you're unable to uninstall the VPN software through the Control Panel, you might also have the option to use the software's built-in uninstaller. This can usually be found by navigating to the program folder in the Start Menu or by searching for the VPN software's name in the Start menu search bar. From there, you should see an option to uninstall the software.
Keep in mind that the exact steps might vary slightly depending on the specific VPN software you're using and your version of Windows, but these general steps should guide you through the process for most cases.
What should I do if I still can't access the games?
From a Windows PC, you can check if these programs are still running and force these programs to quit from the Task Manager. You can open Task Manager by right-clicking the taskbar at the bottom of the screen, and then clicking 'Start Task Manager'. Alternatively, you can also open Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc on your keyboard at the same time. Alternatively, if you click the Start Button on the taskbar and then 'All Programs' you can see all the programs that you have on your computer. One of these may be LogMeIn, Team Viewer, GoToMyPC, or another program that is not compatible with the Plug-in, and you would need to disable and close this.
If this does not resolve the issue, you may need to remove them from your computer entirely.
You can do this by clicking the Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall > and then selecting and removing the software program from the list.
