Geolocation issue on Verizon Fios
We understand it’s frustrating when geolocation doesn’t work properly. There’s a known issue with some newer Verizon routers that can cause this. The good news is that it can often be fixed by updating your network settings to use Google’s public DNS.
Here’s a quick way to do that:
- Open Control Panel and go to Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings.
- Right-click your active connection (Ethernet or Wi-Fi) and select Properties.
- Choose the Networking tab, select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), then click Properties.
- Click Advanced, go to the DNS tab, note any existing DNS addresses, and remove them.
- Click OK, then select “Use the following DNS server addresses.”
- Enter Google’s DNS: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, then click OK to save.
- Restart your browser, try downloading the plugin again, and load a game.
